Additional Contracting Options through ADS

Blanket Purchase Orders

BPA’s are often overlooked as a viable avenue to purchase equipment and services. The FAR (13.303) establishes BPA’s as a simplified method of filling anticipated repetitive needs for supplies or services. BPAs establish a communication path between the customer, the contracting office, and the potential vendor for future use and once established, no minimum purchase requirement must be met.

BPA Advantages:

• BPA’s require no funding to initiate
• Purchase Orders executed under a BPA are limited to $100,000 each
• Exact items, quantities and delivery requirements do not need to be known in advance
• Once in place, very fast turnaround vs. initiating a contract
