LOTS® splints provide a safer more effective approach to immobilization by affording greater degrees of immobilization that result in unparalleled patient comfort and safety in the prehospital environment.
LOTS®... Level One Trauma Splint design criteria focused first and foremost on patient comfort and pain management. This required custom fitting the injured extremity to provide greater degrees of long-axis and off-axis immobilization that would overcome the effects of gravity, gently tamponade the soft-tissues to control hemorrhage, and biomechanically control any distal bone end retraction from muscle pull (spasm), thereby preventing any further injury to surrounding soft-tissues, blood vessels and nerves, while effectively mitigating pertinent pain.
LOTS, or Level One Trauma Splint, provides a safer and more effective method of immobilization, offering patient comfort and helps to prevent further injury pre-hospitalization. LOTS is custom fit to the impaired extremity in order to give a greater degree of long-axis and off-axis immobilization and to stop additional soft-tissue, blood vessel, or nerve injuries.
The Tac Med Operator, one Level One Trauma Splint offered by ADS, is Berry Compliant and a mission modular, integrated quick splint system for upper and lower long bone immobilization with rigid long-axis, formable off-axis, quantifiable dynamic traction, bilateral dynamic traction, and pelvic stabilization. The Trauma Splint and Tac Med Operator-PSD are two other LOTS products offered by ADS which have similar capabilities.
