Specifically for tactical communications, Harris’ Falcon® is a series of software-defined radio systems for individual and vehicular uses. Falcon® supports the U.S. Military’s requirements for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and provides wideband battlefield networking and interoperability in all environments.

The AN/PRC-117G Type-1 Wideband Tactical Radio, is one Falcon® device. The first JTRS SCA-compliant, Type-1 secure tactical radio, AN/PRC-117G allows for concurrent voice and data functions and provides combat net radio capabilities. With more than 10 times the processing power of current fielded Type-1 manpack radios, the AN/PRC-117G also is half the weight of current units, offering significant mobility, security and survivability.
