ABS Technology Architects
Technology Architects For A Converging World

ABS Technology Architects began as American Business Systems in 1972 providing electronic calculators, typewriters, and word-processing solutions for our clients. The business evolved into a data imaging and mini-computer firm as technology and the needs of our clients changed over time. While it has been a while since ABS has sold an electronic calculator, what ABS Technology Architects has carried forward from its heritage is an understanding of how to take care of our clients and deliver innovative solutions that meet the most pressing business and organizational needs.
In 1999, the company took a new direction when they saw the potential of the IP-network for positive change in the worlds of business, government, and education. In that year, the company was reincorporated as ABS Technology Architects. At the same time, the company shifted the focus of the firm from digital imaging and archival to network-based IP communications. ABS was so committed to IP-based communications, that we were the first Virginia-based firm to receive Cisco’s IP Telephony certification and remains the longest continuously certified Cisco voice partner in Virginia. ABS has a deep and experienced team of engineers supporting our deployments and a long list of very satisfied clients in the commercial, government, and education markets. ABS has deployed over 23,000 handsets and over 2,500 contact center seats in the past seven years.
As ABS built its Cisco IP voice business, many of our clients had wireless mobility, network security, Microsoft, and data storage needs. ABS has generally moved into new technology practices at the request of our clients, who liked our work in Cisco IP voice communications projects and asked us to expand our offerings to include complimentary offerings. ABS has grown the number of technology practices to meet the requests of our clients who recognized the value of ABS’ business and engineering expertise in their organizations.
