Demonstration: DuPont™ THERMO-MAN®: Measuring Thermal Protection

Date: Thursday, July 14th
Time: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: Warrior Expo Parking Lot

Presenter: DuPont™

This session will provide a visual demonstration and burn injury prediction when wearing FR versus non-FR uniforms. The DuPont™ THERMO-MAN® is an instrumented, 6’1″ tall, high-temperature mannequin system with 122 heat sensors used to test and measure the protective performance of a variety of garments and clothing systems under realistic flash fire conditions. THERMO-MAN® is dressed in complete garments and engulfed in flames so that factors like garment construction, fabric weight, material type, style, fit, and the impact of outerwear and undergarments can be taken into account. Results of these tests are then analyzed to determine the extent of thermal protection. It is the most advanced life-size thermal burn injury evaluation system in the world today. Controllable, reproducible exposure conditions are key among the results provided by THERMO-MAN® testing. The most important benefit THERMO-MAN® technology provides, however, is the peace of mind it can offer you.
